Iranian Christians refuse to renounce Christian faith in exchange for freedom from prison

Christian Post reported two Iranian Christians at their final appeal hearing were ordered by a court to renounce their Christian faith to gain their freedom but they refused to do so.

Mike Ansari, president of Heart4Iran Ministries, told CP that “the persecution of minorities has been a constant under the current Islamic regime in Iran. The Iranian converts to Christianity have been systematically arrested and persecuted as heretics.”

Iran’s Judges Further Criminalize Christianity

International Christian Concern (ICC) learned that two believers were sentenced for affirming basic Christian doctrines.

Dr. Mike Ansari of Heart4Iran, an Iranian Christian partnership platform, told ICC, “If there is no codified law with respect to a particular issue, judges must deliver their judgments on the basis of authoritative Islamic sources. Iranian courts typically follow the lead of conservative clerics such as Ayatollah Khomeini who viewed apostasy a crime punishable by death.”

Iranian Imam receives Christ via satellite TV, escapes country

One of the top Islamic leaders in Iran accepted Christ and left the country after facing death threats and imprisonment, according to an Iranian pastor living in the U.S., reports Worthy Ministries.

Several other religious leaders may follow suit. He knows four other high-ranking imams that are in the same condition and want to leave Iran, said Pastor Elnathan Baghestani, founder of Iran for Christ Ministries.
