behind the barsToday, you can join the movement with Heart4Iran and be a voice for change in Iran.

It is our heart to make you aware of the plight of Iranians because they are not the only country in the Middle East who needs our help, love, and support.

Iran needs our prayers more than ever!

The Iranian government is cracking down on house churches. They are putting anyone whom they think is a “threat” against the government in prison. Why? It is illegal to convert from Islam to Christianity. To convert is a crime punishable by death (beheading or hanging).

In the coming weeks, we will be sharing more testimonies, interviews, and stories of those in prison so that you can be praying with us!

Typically, in America one might think of giving to charity — besides a local church — as giving $35 dollars a month to support an orphan or flying to Africa to build a well for clean water. Please hear us when we say — there is absolutely nothing wrong with either one of these! However, Heart4Iran must build the case for Iranians since they are not able to make a case for themselves without being thrown in prison or putting their family in danger.

It’s hard to put a name and face to the plight of Iranians because we must protect their privacy.

Iran is a fairly Westernized country in the Middle East with satellite dishes and the Internet. Many young people feel hopeless and live under the constant threat of detentions, torture, expulsion from universities, and the expanding powers of paramilitary forces.

At the same time, Iran and Persian speaking people are experiencing a significant moving of the Spirit of God. This is evidenced by one of the fastest growing underground church movement in the world.

Now, more than ever, we are able to reach Iran with the Gospel of Christ through media (TV, Websites, Social Media).

This helps us fulfill our mandate or call from the Bible to remember the persecuted church:

“Remember the prisoners as if chained with them — those who are mistreated — since you yourselves are in the body also” (Hebrews 13:3, NKJV).

We are often asked how others can join the movement and be a voice for change in Iran. Here are four ways to get involved starting today!

1. Pray. – Pray for the church. Pray for the financial situation in Iran. Pray for dreams and visions among Muslims. Pray for Muslims to have more encounters with Scripture. Pray for the unreached people of Iran. To read more about the 5 ways to pray for Iran, please read our previous blog post here.

2. Engage. – There is a revival happening right now inside Iran. According to Open Doors, there are presently 370,000 Christians (nearly 1% of the population of Iran). About 15 years ago, people in Iran and in the Middle East began to have dreams and visions of the resurrected Christ. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of people, had these dreams. Many became followers of Jesus.

With an exploding youth population, millions of Iranians are hungry for change and are questioning traditional forms of authority. Iran is now proving to be a blue print for the failures of Islam.

3. Advocate. -The UN reports that Iran has some of the highest rates of depression, drug abuse, suicide and prostitution in the region. To reach the hopeless in Iran, we must pray against the threats against God’s people including: arrests, torture, and even death. Iranians are eager for solutions to help their dissolving families, distressed faith communities, and societal structures. We believe that change is on the horizon. It will take a time, but it will happen.

4. Support. – We are confident that media resources provided through satellite television, Internet, mobile platforms, and social networks continue to accomplish a tremendous work by pointing Muslims to Christ’s message of love, encouraging new believers, and supporting the efforts of the local church.
